Hallett Elementary wants all students to be able to safely make it to and from school every day. It is helpful to practice the route with your child and to practice the safety expectations. 

Please consider the following when developing a safe plan with your child:

• Prioritize sidewalks and bike lanes
• The map above shows sidewalk access, bicycle friendly roads, and dedicated bike lane
• Cross at a crosswalk
• Hallett provides supervised crosswalks at Hallett and Campbell and Brower and Campbell
• Listen to the staff and student volunteers while crossing
• Walk your bikes across these intersections
• Cross the street as a group
• Be aware of your surroundings
• Avoid earbuds, headphones, or watching a device while traveling
• Look and listen at intersections
• Stay between the bike lanes when walking
• Stay out of the road
• Make sure cars see you and are stopped when you cross
• No playing around
• Respect other people’s yards
• Be cautious and avoid deer
• Wear a helmet if biking, scootering, skateboarding, or roller skating
