Health Room/School Nurse » Welcome

Welcome

We know that when children are healthy, they are more likely to attend school and are better able to learn.

The Health Services staff at Hallett Elementary are committed to promoting the health and safety of all students by supporting the educational community so every student can achieve academic success.

We do this by providing services including but not limited to:

  • First aid care and health assessment for injuries and illnesses at school
  • Writing care plans and coordinating the care of students with chronic or acute health conditions including asthma, life threatening allergies, diabetes and seizures
  • Communicating with teachers and staff to ensure the safety and well-being of students
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by licensed healthcare providers
  • Training and supervision of health aides and other unlicensed school personnel including medication and treatment administration by the Registered Nurse
  • Assisting in the evaluation of students for Special Services (Special Education)
  • Coordinating and providing vision and hearing screenings
  • Health policy and program planning
  • Ongoing assessment of health service needs for staff and students
  • Training for staff members on health conditions and emergency medications
  • Documentation and Data Collection
