Library Policies

Library Classes:  Each class in grades 1-5 comes to library once a week for 30 minutes. Kindergarten comes twice a week for 30 minutes each; one session is for a lesson and check out, the other is a story time.

Book Limits: Students in grades K-1 may check out one book. Students in grades 2-5 may check out 2 books. Books are good for 2 weeks before they become overdue.

Overdues/Fines: If a student has an overdue book, s/he may not check out another until either: 1. The overdue book is returned or 2. A parent or guardian signs an overdue slip acknowledging that they are aware of it. If the book is not turned in by the end of the school year, a bill will be sent home. A student with fines will not be able to check out books until the fine is cleared.

Holds: Any student who has no overdue books may place a book on hold if it is not available (checked out by someone else). Once the book becomes available, it will be given to the student first in line for it. A book may be renewed (checked out again) up to 3 times - as long as it is not on hold for someone else.
